The call

I feel it, Eve calling out to me.

Alot has changed in the short time I've been planet-side, my Corp has left the MC then formed the Mpire alliance and have rented a pocket in catch 0.0 ( more on this in a later post ).

I'm truly looking forward to next weekend and Reaper's return

See you in space

Where's wal... Umm ReapeR

Well it turns out I seam to have joined the only merc alliance that either,
1 Doesn't want any contracts

2 refuses to take any contracts it deems beneath its eliteness

3 (and the most likely ) nobody wants to hire us because we suck.

All it takes is one look at our kb, ok so it's starting to pick up but still I'm really not impressed with the MC! Rant over.
The real reason I've not posted is that fact I haven't played eve that much, I find it's nice to have a short break from time to time so that's what I'm doing. Don't worry though I will be back soon and there will be some changes coming one way or another.

Oh and if you haven't already go download minecraft it's soooo cool!

Slow week, Died fast

Over last weekend the alliance has had 2 new corps join us to bolster our numbers and we have been ordered to move our assets to new high/low sec staging areas ready for a new campaign. Things have been very quiet in the MC for the last few weeks, the leadership for what ever reason seemed largely absent (no doubt working hard in the background) and with the lack of action a lot of my Corp and much of the alliance stopped logging in, but, things are picking up with the news of the coming pew pew so all i can say is roll on next weekend.

After moving my gear (I love the orca, what a great ship, all my small stuff moved down in 1hit) only 1 BC had to be flown manually. I could have got it jumped down but I wanted to change one of the rigs and I would be passing amarr so that worked out well. Anyway after refitting a few of my ships I decided to have a look around, Tama was close and I had heard there was pew to be found there so set coarse in a rifter. I jumped in there was a small gate camp, nothing I was worried about, I had a look around system and decided warp to the top belt witch had a malediction on scan. I was gearing up for a fight, I really do have a go at anything in my rifter. I land and head straight for him, as I start getting close he warps off. Cursing my luck I hit warp to an off grid ss and nothing happened , then I switch my overview, the pesky ratu have me scrambled. OK, no problem I was thinking , just as I destroy the first rat the malediction comes back at range. I quickly kill the second rat and align out only to be scrammed and webbed bye a rapier
that had de-cloaked. Oops I'm screwed, Down I go. I get my pod out with ease, so ok not a good start. I reship into a stabber and return some time later to the same belt, there's a claw interceptor in with me so I light him up, my first volley stripped half his shields and the second nearly takes him into armour but not quite. The trouble is, I was hoping to pop him with the first 2/3 shots as he was burning away with no transversal, but I didn't and he was now out of range, so my point drops but I decide to stick around. A few seconds later he starts burning for me once again only this time he points me, I overheat everything in the hope he would pop but his buddy in a vagabond arrives and I go Bang(not as fast as i was expecting I must say), having burned out my mwd and guns. I return home a little unhappy but that's Eve, I'm having a bad week tbh, after the rifter and stabber I also lost a Crow and a Stiletto during a roam, stupid losses, I was not happy about it but can only blame myself.

Sorry it's been nearly a week since my last post but as I said things have been very slow and largely uninteresting hopefully there will be more posts next week maybe even some where I acutely kill something. Wish me luck

Ramble

Yes! I can finally fly a vagabond, I know what you might be thinking, so what! Well it's one of my long term goals reached, when I started out in Eve I wasn't interested in pvp and that came back to haunt me as my skills were so spread out from mining to trading to mission running.

About 10 months ago I decided to try and address the problem, I made a plan to cross train my skills to minmatar but this time do it properly. Starting at frigates and getting the skills to fly a rifter well, I then trained for interceptors and Assault frigs, after that I move up to Cruisers and Battle Cruiser's. I also trained for interdictors at some point during all of this.

Battleships just don't interest me what so ever and my plan was to stop at Hac's, but I have decided to train for a rapier as an extra and this will be as far as I go for sub caps for the time being.

Once I can fly them all well I will be making the jump to a carrier for logistical purposes only as I don't have the isk or the desire to use one in combat, yes some might see this as a waste but I can't find any other option to jump ships around (yes I'm aware that jump freighters can but the expense is far to great and the rorqual as far as I know can only fit mining barges and industrials in it's ship maintenance bay ). So a nidhoggur as far as I can see is the best option for moving cargo and rigged ships in and out of 0.0 and low sec. For any high sec hauling I have an alt that can fly an Orca so I should have all my bases covered.

It is a nice feeling logging on knowing I can join most fleets with the ship type that's being asked for (bar bs fleets but that's why I trained for a dictor so I can still be useful ).

After all of this my favourite ship to fly is jag or stabber, it's just a shame there seams to be alot of snobbery and elitism in my alliance when it come to ship types wanted for ops, there's nothing wrong with wanting the best possible ships for the job but sometimes I just want to have fun and flying a cheap t1 with t2 fit cruiser it is all that's needed for me to have a blast, and if I lose it the kill board doesn't suffer for it.

I must admit I am missing my old Corp/Alliance Ushra'Khan and the small gang stuff that we used to do but the MC is a different kind of alliance so theres bound to be growing pains as I try to settle in one thing I will say the next contract can't come soon enough it's soooo boring at the min. I want pew pew so if your anywhere near kharam/mista area and fancy a frig or crusier fight hit me up in game I'm allways around 18:00et onwards most week nights I won't bite would be nice to see some blinky blink in my chat channels for a change :p

Don't touch my Drake!

Just lately I've been hearing about the Drake and how a lot of people are saying it needs a nerf how ridiculous if theses people played eve a bit more rather than bitching about things on the forums maybe just maybe brain cells would be used to figure out a counter.
Now im not saying that nothing in Eve should ever be nerfed  because that's not true there are for what ever reason some things do. Ever since I started to fly the drake all I here is the drake is crap and it cant pvp, well some bright spark changed all of that bye thinking outside of the box and trying something new,  it worked congrats is all I can say im still not sure what the problem is.
What makes this game so brilliant is the fact every ship has a counter and there's no win button. To prove this here is a video (in my opinion one of the best eve videos out there) of the Initiative using  there INITIATIVE to counter the drake blob.
Now to those who did the bitching STOP! and go play the game.

Friday inty's, Saturday Bomber's

Friday 29th
Log on in the hope for a fleet but there's nothing doing so I logon my alt  and move some gear around for awhile.  Eventually an fc steps up calling for nano hac's but after 20 minutes or so most of the guys have turned up in interceptors so we head out on a inty roam instead.  We head down to R3-K7K, scout jumps in and has a look around, he finds a lone Polaris syndicate vagabond on the n8xa-l gate (obviously bait) but he goes in for tackle and gets red boxed.  We all jump in and warp, as we start to land our scout has to jump out and the vaga is now 25 off the gate but we easily get retackle.  We start to pound and get him to armour as his gang mates warp in, a bunch of hac's and recon's so we GTFO.  We did lose a Stiletto and a Sabre so not the best of starts.
We hang around in R3 whilst the 2 guys re-ship, we move to T-RPFU then on to HED-GP, our scout jumps in and heads to the KEBERZ gate expecting a camp and we are not disappointed.  We all jump in and head to KEB gate, our scout/tackler Pops just before we land and the camp scatters before we can get any points.  I try to chase down a crow that seamed to warp to the sun but he safed.  We camp HED for a while until our sabre pilot reships, we head to curse but only venture in 2 or 3 jumps before we decide to move back to catch.  As we move around we nearly snag a cynabal but just manage to get away, we give chase but don't manage to pin him down.  We do snag a Manticore in 36N-HZ.  People are starting to get tired by this time and its decided to head home, we offer to escort a campmate who is in a BS back to our staging area, that goes without a hitch and fleet disbands.  All in all not the best 3 losses to 1 kill but hey things can only get better can't they.

Saturday 30th
There was a bomber op scheduled for 20:30et so I make my way to amarr an hr or so before hand  for the ship and fittings I needed.  Isn't it always the way, no matter how much you plan you always forget something.  I got the hound back to mista then turned around back to amarr, how I didn't notice I hadn't fit the damn thing I will never know but its only 6 jumps, it could have been worse.  I then afk for awhile, the wife bought Fable 3 so I ninja'd a go for and hr, its a nice looking game, I miss the Bow, it seems to be all rifles and pistols for ranged weapons.
I jump back on eve to find nothing going on so I sit around and wait and wait and wait.  I'm not sure why the op didn't happen, maybe the Fc getting all emo on the forums about something.  I start talking to some guys on TS and we decide to join up with one of our corpmates who is solo camping a gate in curse, he has a drag bubble all set up so we all jump in something that can cloak.  I get in the hound that's caused me so much hassle and we burn down to 8G-MQV, 23 jumps.  Nothing to report on the trip down, we do have to slowly make our way though a gate camp in Doril but we all went 1 at a time so that we didn't de-cloak each other as we slow boated  to the gate.  We all made it no problem and the last few jumps were uneventful.
We all jumped in to the target system and spread our selves out around the bubble and cloaked, what happened next was a lot of chatting on TS ( I didn't realise so many GEEKS played EvE :p) and us just having a laugh.  We had been there for quite some time and there were a few BC and Hac gangs moving around but we stayed cloaked until they moved on.  Finally we snag a  Atron who got caught in our bubble, a few of the guys had to go so they made there way home, I do feel bad for my corp mate and friend Sable who lost his hound to a saber on his way.  To rub salt in his wounds if he had stayed for a few minutes longer he would have been on this proteus   kill mail, which kinda made my day.  We hang around missing a fair few targets but you can't have it all your own way, we get a caracal who jumps in to us.  At some point we lose another Hound to a camp in doril. I decide to call it for the night and log off in system.  I make my way home just after DT on Sunday, doril is still camped and as I jump in I see a jaguar just off the gate.  I hold cloak, my spidy senses tingling, and low and behold a saber de-cloaks and drops a bubble.  Ha, you going to have to do better than that, I align and  pulse my MWD/cloak.  Luckily I was near the edge of the bubble so I warp to safety, I then made my way home.  All together happy, I got on a few km's and my ship is still intact, this is the sort of thing I love and hope we can do more of the same.

Gang down

I logged in, there was an op about to start. FC was calling for cloakies, mainly rapiers, but anything that can warp cloaked was accepted so I made the short trip to amarr to buy a new manticore and the relevant fittings, got it all together and made my way back dodging a few WT's along the way (lets face it, it's not hard in a bomber).

I get back just as the fleet is moving out, destination was set to ay-241 in provi. On the way we find a 5/6 man BC gate camp but they don't want to play with us so we carry on. As we reach ay-241 scout reports a drake gang ahead so we give chase all the way down to ul-718 but we get fed up so a new destination goes in fleet chat g7aq. We head off passing a few blues on the way, at one point our fc gets a convo about joining forces with a nearby blue gang but nothing comes of it so we change course once again, this time heading into catch.

As we make our way there towards D-G we hear reports of a large IT gang around and as we warp to f9e-kx scout reports them holding at zero on our out gate so we all bail and cloak as they jump in. We start playing with a Loki vaga and a few ceptors but it was always going to end in tears as we lose a Hound to miscommunication. I'm not sure why he didn't jump through tbh but meh, by this time we have an init gang on our ass so we burn for a few jumps until we get to the 36n-hz gate in 9koe-a. At this point I'm a bit WTF is going on, fc calls for everyone to jump and hold cloak, his intention is to catch one of the init interceptors before the rest of the gang arrives, trouble is they're right behind and the hostiles jump in to us. Down goes our Tengu one of our Rapiers and a Falcon I Gtfo as they try to lock me up, somehow we lose another in Rapier in u-gvwd. I'm not sure how that went down tbh.

All in all a disappointing roam. I'm not sure why we stopped for the inty but that's just the way the cookie crumbles, on the plus side two of our guys did kill a Rifter :) 800mil+ losses for a 3 mil with fitting kill, isn't Eve great.

Still had fun, I love roams just wish there were more going on in my play time.
