Well it turns out I seam to have joined the only merc alliance that either,
1 Doesn't want any contracts
2 refuses to take any contracts it deems beneath its eliteness
3 (and the most likely ) nobody wants to hire us because we suck.
All it takes is one look at our kb, ok so it's starting to pick up but still I'm really not impressed with the MC! Rant over.
The real reason I've not posted is that fact I haven't played eve that much, I find it's nice to have a short break from time to time so that's what I'm doing. Don't worry though I will be back soon and there will be some changes coming one way or another.
Oh and if you haven't already go download minecraft it's soooo cool!

Slow week, Died fast
Over last weekend the alliance has had 2 new corps join us to bolster our numbers and we have been ordered to move our assets to new high/low sec staging areas ready for a new campaign. Things have been very quiet in the MC for the last few weeks, the leadership for what ever reason seemed largely absent (no doubt working hard in the background) and with the lack of action a lot of my Corp and much of the alliance stopped logging in, but, things are picking up with the news of the coming pew pew so all i can say is roll on next weekend.
After moving my gear (I love the orca, what a great ship, all my small stuff moved down in 1hit) only 1 BC had to be flown manually. I could have got it jumped down but I wanted to change one of the rigs and I would be passing amarr so that worked out well. Anyway after refitting a few of my ships I decided to have a look around, Tama was close and I had heard there was pew to be found there so set coarse in a rifter. I jumped in there was a small gate camp, nothing I was worried about, I had a look around system and decided warp to the top belt witch had a malediction on scan. I was gearing up for a fight, I really do have a go at anything in my rifter. I land and head straight for him, as I start getting close he warps off. Cursing my luck I hit warp to an off grid ss and nothing happened , then I switch my overview, the pesky ratu have me scrambled. OK, no problem I was thinking , just as I destroy the first rat the malediction comes back at range. I quickly kill the second rat and align out only to be scrammed and webbed bye a rapier
that had de-cloaked. Oops I'm screwed, Down I go. I get my pod out with ease, so ok not a good start. I reship into a stabber and return some time later to the same belt, there's a claw interceptor in with me so I light him up, my first volley stripped half his shields and the second nearly takes him into armour but not quite. The trouble is, I was hoping to pop him with the first 2/3 shots as he was burning away with no transversal, but I didn't and he was now out of range, so my point drops but I decide to stick around. A few seconds later he starts burning for me once again only this time he points me, I overheat everything in the hope he would pop but his buddy in a vagabond arrives and I go Bang(not as fast as i was expecting I must say), having burned out my mwd and guns. I return home a little unhappy but that's Eve, I'm having a bad week tbh, after the rifter and stabber I also lost a Crow and a Stiletto during a roam, stupid losses, I was not happy about it but can only blame myself.
Sorry it's been nearly a week since my last post but as I said things have been very slow and largely uninteresting hopefully there will be more posts next week maybe even some where I acutely kill something. Wish me luck

Ramble
Yes! I can finally fly a vagabond, I know what you might be thinking, so what! Well it's one of my long term goals reached, when I started out in Eve I wasn't interested in pvp and that came back to haunt me as my skills were so spread out from mining to trading to mission running.
About 10 months ago I decided to try and address the problem, I made a plan to cross train my skills to minmatar but this time do it properly. Starting at frigates and getting the skills to fly a rifter well, I then trained for interceptors and Assault frigs, after that I move up to Cruisers and Battle Cruiser's. I also trained for interdictors at some point during all of this.
Battleships just don't interest me what so ever and my plan was to stop at Hac's, but I have decided to train for a rapier as an extra and this will be as far as I go for sub caps for the time being.
Once I can fly them all well I will be making the jump to a carrier for logistical purposes only as I don't have the isk or the desire to use one in combat, yes some might see this as a waste but I can't find any other option to jump ships around (yes I'm aware that jump freighters can but the expense is far to great and the rorqual as far as I know can only fit mining barges and industrials in it's ship maintenance bay ). So a nidhoggur as far as I can see is the best option for moving cargo and rigged ships in and out of 0.0 and low sec. For any high sec hauling I have an alt that can fly an Orca so I should have all my bases covered.
It is a nice feeling logging on knowing I can join most fleets with the ship type that's being asked for (bar bs fleets but that's why I trained for a dictor so I can still be useful ).
After all of this my favourite ship to fly is jag or stabber, it's just a shame there seams to be alot of snobbery and elitism in my alliance when it come to ship types wanted for ops, there's nothing wrong with wanting the best possible ships for the job but sometimes I just want to have fun and flying a cheap t1 with t2 fit cruiser it is all that's needed for me to have a blast, and if I lose it the kill board doesn't suffer for it.
I must admit I am missing my old Corp/Alliance Ushra'Khan and the small gang stuff that we used to do but the MC is a different kind of alliance so theres bound to be growing pains as I try to settle in one thing I will say the next contract can't come soon enough it's soooo boring at the min. I want pew pew so if your anywhere near kharam/mista area and fancy a frig or crusier fight hit me up in game I'm allways around 18:00et onwards most week nights I won't bite would be nice to see some blinky blink in my chat channels for a change :p

Don't touch my Drake!
Just lately I've been hearing about the Drake and how a lot of people are saying it needs a nerf how ridiculous if theses people played eve a bit more rather than bitching about things on the forums maybe just maybe brain cells would be used to figure out a counter.
Now im not saying that nothing in Eve should ever be nerfed because that's not true there are for what ever reason some things do. Ever since I started to fly the drake all I here is the drake is crap and it cant pvp, well some bright spark changed all of that bye thinking outside of the box and trying something new, it worked congrats is all I can say im still not sure what the problem is.
What makes this game so brilliant is the fact every ship has a counter and there's no win button. To prove this here is a video (in my opinion one of the best eve videos out there) of the Initiative using there INITIATIVE to counter the drake blob.
Now to those who did the bitching STOP! and go play the game.
